ABOUT US

Kathleen Pratt

Principal Designer / CEO

Classically trained, Kathleen's background extends from creating vision boards for her bedroom at age six, to graduating from Virginia Tech's School of Architecture. Her education originally led her into commericial design in Richmond, Virginia, but her family and the allure of Charleston, SC persuaded her to transition into the realm of residential design. Over the past decade, she has been lead designer on over one hundred residential projects and is excited to dabble in any commercial design projects that come our way!

Kathleen is 'fluent in construction' and ensures everyone at DWELL will keep your project on time and in budget (to the best of our ability.) Consider Kathleen your personal tour guide, as she will delve much deeper than just product specifications and procurement orders. She will DWELL on the details, so you don't have to.

Growing up as a carpenter's son, Brandon learned at an early age, with a little improvisation and a lot of perseverance, anything is possible. While serving in the Armed Forces for over a decade, he was able to amass various leadership skills, college degrees, and life experience that helped him become a successful entrepreneur. In 2016, Brandon met Kathleen and they both knew right away, they were a perfect match. Together, Brandon and Kathleen have combined their education, experience, and passion to create Dwell Design, a full service design firm that focuses on implementing an efficient process in order to provide an enjoyable experience to every client.

Brandon is 'fluent in Kathleen' and ensures DWELL is able to implement the ideas of all the creative minds involved. His construction knowledge and real estate experience provides an important insight to every project we take on.

Julie Barry

Administrative Assistant

Julie has dedicated her life to enabling Kathleen to chase her design dreams. Quite literally. After raising Kathleen and running a successful business for over 30 years, she has finally retired as a hair stylist and joined the Dwell team. She functions mainly behind the scenes as an administrative assistant, but is definitely the glue that holds the business and family together.

Julie has a keen eye for design herself and often helps narrow selection decisions, but it's her ability to maintain the office and provide administrative support that helps to ensure efficient operations. We couldn't do it without her!
